Forestry Training Course Goal

This course will appeal to contractors, supervisors and harvest planning staff.  The goal is to increase awareness of the legislation and strategies in place in Alberta and are designed to protect species at risk.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this Woodland Species at Risk (SARA) course, the participant will be able to:

  • Recognize the dynamic nature of plant and animal populations
  • Discuss two management approaches used in protecting wild species
  • Discuss the species at risk legislation in place to protect wildlife in Canada
  • Recognize the value of recovery plans for threatened species
  • Recognize the ways that species at risk are protected during woods operations

        • This course is available in a narrated online version (link below), however, it can also be delivered in person or online (to groups) with a live instructor.
